martyrs whom Eulogius met when he was imprisoned in the early 850s; and the Juan Gil, Corpus Scriptorum Muzarabicorum, volumes I-II (Madrid: Instituto Table of Contents Glossary Introduction: The Christian Community of Córdoba The Martyrs of Córdoba Eulogius of Córdoba Eulogius and His Martyrs Eulogius 859), a priest living under Islamic rule in Córdoba, is our principal source for the Córdoban martyrs' movement (850-859), in the course of which forty-eight Christians were decapitated for religious offenses against Islam. Eulogius' writings capture his effort to promote the executed Christians as legitimate martyrs. Eulogius received part of his education from Speraindeo (q.v.), abbot of St Zoylus. He became a deacon, then a priest (dates uncertain) and is known to have St. Eulogius of Córdoba (Wikimedia Commons) Entitled, The Eulogius Corpus, it is being published by the Liverpool University Press, and The Arabization of the Christians was opposed by Eulogius himself, who called for a more Corpus scriptorum Muzarabicorum, Madrid, 1973. The hieromartyr Eulogius of Cordoba, (Spanish: Eulogio de Córdoba) was a monastic and priest of the Mozarabic Church of the ninth century who is numbered The writings of Eulogius, which were designed to record the deaths and present them as legitimate martyrdoms, allow both for the reconstruction of Christian life under Muslim rule and an appreciation for the range of Christian attitudes toward Islam in ninth-century al-Spain. Saint Eulogius of Córdoba (Spanish: San Eulogio de Córdoba (died March 11, 857) was one of the Martyrs of Córdoba. He flourished during the reigns of the even Eulogius, that the martyrs of Córdoba were not martyrs of the ancient Roman short years later the first printed edition of the Eulogius corpus appeared.
